"OLDEST SHOW OF ITS KIND IN KANSAS"

2007 Show Details

51st Annual Pioneer Harvest Fiesta
Steam - Gas Engine & Tractor Show

September 28, 29, 30, 2007

Bourbon County Fairgrounds
Historic Fort Scott, Kansas

This Year's Spotlight:
The 1912 Baker "Special" Steam Traction Engine

Owned and restored by one of our members, Ron Sevart, and used by four generations of his family.

This 16 hp engine is "special", not only because of its name, but because it was one of only three Baker engines shipped new to Kansas in 1912.  Even though there were a total of 407 Baker 16hp engines built, there are only 10 left today, and only a few of those are operable.  This one is fully operable and will be running during our show.  For more photos and history of this remarkable engine and the story of its restoration, please visit Ron's website  http://jkkdcomputers.com/rste/

The Galloway was one of the many engines that were made in Iowa.  This 1909 5hp Round Rod Galloway, currently owned and restored by members Leonard and Leon Lemmon, was originally used for a line shaft in a local machine shop.
